Typing2Practice is built around a simple principle: your typing practice should stay yours. This policy explains what data Typing2Practice collects, where it lives, and the limited ways it is used. Because Typing2Practice runs entirely in your browser, the short version is that almost nothing leaves your device.
Information we store
Typing2Practice saves your practice data locally in your browser using the Web Storage API (localStorage). This includes:
- Your display name (default "Guest")
- Which keys you have unlocked and your calibration progress
- Per-key accuracy statistics and any key-confusion patterns you produce
- Aggregate totals such as scripts completed, best WPM, and average accuracy
None of this is transmitted to a server, attached to an account, or shared with third parties.
Accounts and sign-up
Typing2Practice does not require an account. There is no email, no password, and no registration step. You can begin practicing the moment the page loads.
Analytics and advertising
This site may load third-party advertising scripts to help cover hosting costs. Those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads. Typing2Practice itself does not read, store, or process the data those scripts collect. You can control ad personalization through your browser settings.
Your controls
You are always in control of your data:
- Reset Progress — clears your typing stats and re-locks keys, while keeping your name.
- Clear All Data — removes every saved value, including your name, from this browser.
Both options are available from the profile menu in the app. Because data is stored per-browser, clearing it on one device does not affect another.
